NOS GE Compax CFL
Hardly a COMPACT fluorescent lamp LOL. Definetly a long-lasting lamp. Still in it's original box too! Interestingly, GE offered table lamp harp extenders free of charge if the lamp didn't fit in the fixture. I know for sure this wouldn't fit in the majority of the light fixtures in my house hehe. Plus it's so heavy it'd make a table lamp top-heavy. This is a really nice lamp before the cheapo electronic soft serve sundae lamp took over.

I have the newer version of this, oh and I think HD still sells lamp harp extenders in the section with all the light fixture parts.

Wonder what year was this made?? I have first Westy CFL that made in 1982-83.

Made by Panasonic in Japan for GE. There should be a Philips style date code on the plastic ballast casing.

Joe told my 1989. The date code is "93" right above the work JAPAN right near the screw shell

93 means 9/87. The Panasonic branded ones had Philips codes though, because they had a joint venture with Philips for a long time.

Those twisters did not come out until 1997....I remember the days of those old CFL with their blink happy start ups!!!

Also they are indeed compact, I mean think about it, they are a LOT smaller than the F40T12 lamps....therefore compact! Wink

Today's pigtails are OVERLY DANGEROUSLY COMPACT!
