An unusual traffic light setup in Maryland!
This traffic light setup is very unusual and is right in middle of an overpass that goes over Interstate 270!

Haven't found another setup in MD like this.

This setup i believe is a late 80s setup I think 1987 and the shoe boxes were popular at those times too!

Well for me:
3M signals - positive points (bonus points if still incandescent)
Brown shoeboxes - negative points Laughing
streetlight98   [May 05, 2013 at 03:12 PM]

I didn't at first but then I saw the square visors, the green arrow looks like it might have a LED though.

We still have a LOT of incandescent traffic lights in MD so a positive point! And it's ON an overpass not a flat dirt land road...but FLOATING on an OVERPASS....BIG PLUSES!!!!

Oooh over here the old incandescent lights are almost all gone. I only know of a handful of places that still have incandescent lights and some missouts. BTW, the one in my pic is on a overpass too. Razz

It's the same situation here in RI as it is up in the Torronto area. This signal set up is floating eh? Shocked HUGE plus in that case lol. Laughing Razz wasn't Joe's pic on a bridge intersection?

Yep it was, I added in a streetview link on my last comment. Razz I seem to have started a trend of pictures of gantry mounted signals too. Laughing

Hmm. I don't think i've ever seen a gantry set up here. they're all either on spanwires or masts.
GullWhiz   [May 06, 2013 at 02:50 AM]
CHEAP OVERPASS!!!!!!

mine has a FULL OVERPASS!!!!
joe_347V   [May 06, 2013 at 03:33 AM]
Well it's certainly wider. Razz

3Ms are LED. Have they ever see 2 poles and a wire... wire span. It would have saved money here and would look good.
