I wish I didn't get rid of my OV-25, I guess that was a bad mistake, but again my parents were pressuring me to get rid of a lot of my lights since we didn't really have the room.

This does look nice though, I wish I had one of these. xD And I'm sure the light distribution on this would be pretty good.

I like the paint on it. Our OV-25's never have paint on them but I wish they did. This would be great to have.

This isn't an OV-25, this is what they call the OVW, which is the FCO version and usually painted grey.

By the way you might think the OV-25's are not painted, (unless you live in Canada.. If you live in Canada then they ARE mainly unpainted)

The OV-25's are usually painted silver, and have a metallic paintjob, they can look like they do not have paint because they are older and the paint starts to fade off and the fixture can look like it is not painted.

But if you live in Canada the OV-25's there pretty much are unpainted, like most lights are up in the Canada area.

Hanging Light lives in Ontario so the lights there aren't painted. Only the GEs are since GE is too stubborn to offer a bare fixture lol.

Yeah the OV 25s here are unpainted except for a few rebuilt ones in Scarborough which are painted grey.

Most lights here are unpainted even new ones but I've seen some grey AELs and Coopers here before. GE like what Mike said is almost always painted.

The GE-M400's are almost all painted.

for all intents & purposes im considering this an OV-25....much the same way I consider a GE M400R3 just that inspite of the MRSL it is indeed.

with that said it looks fantastic with that drop lense....even though I prefer the pointed beak of the original silverliners its nice to see one of these cooper versions with a drop....since all the one's in texas are FCO...so far that ive seen.

No, the current M-400 (NOT M-400R3, it's the M-400!!!!) is not called the MSRL. That's the ordering code, not the model number. "Medium semi-cut-off roadway luminaire". That would be like called the M-250R2 the M2RR.

The blunt nose was actually a Westinghouse Canada design. They started using the blunt nose instead of the pointed nose in the late 70s.

I personally like the pointed nose better. Even the OV-15's

Yep the Blunt nose design was introduced instead of the boxy L-150 and L-250 I guess? I prefer the older pointed nose too. Was the design of the OV-15 changed besides the PC socket being moved back to the front? (since the original OV-15 with the bolts on the side actually had the PC in the front)

me personally I do not mind the Cooper L-150/L-250 or the Late model Westinghouse OV-15/25 bearing the same design....the only fault on those fixtures is they look incomplete in a way...and the exposed slipfitter bolts do rust.

but they do have a Classic look for a Boxy fixture.

All I see for HID cobraheads are the M-250R2, M-250A2, M-400R2, M-400A2, M-400 and M-400A!

It's GE's light, so if they call it the M-400, it's the M-400.

because it's what I first knew the fixture as....much like I was dismayed when the Original M250 is not the one that's commonly portrayed.

and there's really no need to continue this discussion....weather or not the R3/A3 came from lighting fanatics im not sure but it stuck.
