Seattle LED streetlight distribution
I can't remember where exactly this is or what kind of fixture it was (plus it's a bad cell phone photo), but Seattle has been using almost entirely Leotek Green Cobras and Beta LEDways. I think this is one of the former, which I think are ugly during the day (they look like toilets on poles) and at night (basically a raster display of bright, glary dots). Though the color is nice...similar to a good metal halide lamp. And this is the typical problem with their light distribution: A bright spot of light under the light, and almost total darkness between poles.

FCO and yet as glarey as a drop lens HID. Rolling Eyes Laughing I'm glad I don't see any LED street lights here. They're still installing new HPS lights by the dozens. As far as I know, NGrid has no plans for a massive changeout. NGrid actually took over the old electric company around 1998-2000, about 5/8 or so the way through the MV to HPS changeout and NGrid basically brought the changeout to a halt, replacing the remaining mercs as they fail and continueing to relamp 100W mercs. They did some group merc replacements in the mid-2000s with Cooper OVZs but that's it. Now they only replace mercs s the lamps burn out. If a merc goes dayburner, it will get a new PC but if the lamp dies or it's reported as dim, it gets HPS'ed. 100W mercs are still sometimes relamped to this day. Seems to be hit or miss though.

from the pic it looks like 175 watt DX MV or 100-150 Watt MH.
