Sylvania Designer 16 Capsylite 55w PAR16 Halogen Lamp

Here's a neat halogen lamp, a Sylvania Designer 16 from 1995. This is the type of PAR16 lamp that has ceramic sides. It has a prismatic glass front with a metal surround. The etch is on the very end of the E26 base, which is unique. This particular lamp is 55 watts. Unfortunately, the lamp does not work anymore, as I accidentally bumped it against something, which caused the filament to be knocked out of place. When it worked, it had a very nice 2900K halogen white color, but it also flickered. This is because the halogen capsule runs on DC, a diode is used to convert the incoming AC to DC, so the bulb is only half-rectified. I also enjoy the packaging of this bulb too, it is simple but cool and retro. It is definitely not retail packaging, as there is no barcode.
