The M-400s at my High School
|
They don't work. Or more precisely, they're not switched anymore. These two have yellowed lenses while the one behind the pic has no lens and sports a few bullet holes with gasket that's hanging in the front, caught by the refractor tabs. The lamp in it is a-okay though with slight blackening in the arc tube. These are 250W HPS BTW and the people are sledders.

which way do these swing down? It appears they're a provision for a second arm too.
EDIT: do you mean like these poles? Does that mean you'd need a winch or is there one in the pole?
I'd love to stumble accross the switch for these and flip it on... I'd also love to go and ask if i can lug all three home. I'd beg my parents to let me keep one and i'd ship off the other two to the people of GoL. Shipping would be a PITA though.
Cool that you're trying to save them, I don't have space or the money to pay for shipping (which will be ) but I bet someone else here will probably be interested in one.
School vacation for me is always the week of President's Day and the week of tax day (April 15th) so they don't have to give us the day off for those days. and of course there's Chirstmas Break- er.. i mean Holiday Break which covers Christmas and New Year's. Every so often we get two full weeks of vacation for x-mas. Then the school year is REALLY long. I'd rather go to school without any winter vacations so we can have a longer summer break since those schools are sweat shops big time! I'm guessing up in Canada you'd prefer winter breaks because of skiing?
I really want to save some of the lights at Rocky Point Park. If i could get any, i'd save the one and only itt 25 for George since he's been on a goose hunt for one with no turn ups. Then I'd try and save an OV-400 since it's a small sized light and i would ahve room for it and I'd try to get any and all PCs from the place and a few refractors.
Back in high school it was mostly the same except the exam break was in the end of January and with the winter break pushed back to mid March. I ended school in June back then.
I want to see the lights in Rocky Point Park saved too, especially the older ones like the OV-400s. I guess you could always save the lamps, PCs, glass, and ballasts from the lights you can't keep too.
