Its possible, I see 1000bulbs.com sells 1KW MH capacitors but I don't think it would be worth it considering the state of this light. BTW the light was not green but the camera rendered it this way.
I guess I could, the lamp is stuck in the socket and I can't figure out how to get the socket out, the only way to do it would be smashing the lamp which I clearly don't want to do.
Possibly, I've tried to use WD-40 on the socket of my first OV-15 and it didn't work, about a 1/3 of my lights have lamps stuck in the socket, I should ask the utility company, they must know how to.
I had that problem with my 250w MH wallpack. I just lit it up, let the lamp heat up for a bit, and once the glass was cool to the touch (the base still being hot) it unscrewed the lamp. It was still very hard to get out, but it was managable.
I did the same on my OV-12 let the lamp burn for a bit and cool then spray it with WD-40 now it will still seem tough to get out but gently yet firmly apply unscrewing pressure and it should break free.
I'll try doing that, getting the WD-40 into the socket will be a little hard though as the socket is under the lamp in such a way that you can't even see it.
