FILE 389/795
B2227 Relfector
I cannot believe how good the reflectors in these are, the light intensity is about the same as a 400 watt OVX!

Wonder how intense it would be if you retrofited it to 400w HPS.

1000w intensity?

Would that wattage lamp even fit in this light?

If the 1kw HPS doesn't fit just stick a 1kw cram MH inside it

Or cram 1KW HPS (they are rare but do exist) I'm not sure that a ED/BT-37 would still fit in this light, I'll try soon.

higher wattage HPS lamps have a small envelope as it is, I didn't know it was possible to make a reduced envelope HPS lamp

They have two arctubes like a standby lamp except both light up at the same time, they also used ED-37 jackets.

Oh. When one dies, does the other stay lit or do they both extinguish?

The're wired in series so yes, both will go out at the same time.

I'm guessing a ED/BT 37 lamp should fit since it fits in the similarly sized R47. Haven't seen a cram 1kw HPS though.

IMO, If you can't fit a full sized lamp in, the fixture is too small for that wattage.

I agree, but a lot of area lights are only designed for cram 1KW lamps which is rather stupid in my opinion.

I do too. I think The Cooper Galleria can except full size 1000w lamps in vertical lamp position.

Yep it can!
