SeanB~1   [Jan 10, 2012 at 04:00 AM]
Is the whole pole taped up?
gailgrove   [Jan 29, 2012 at 01:00 PM]
Incandescent? This is just tacky looking. Rolling Eyes
GEsoftwhite100watts   [Feb 12, 2012 at 02:16 AM]
AND it's dayburning, even with the new PC! Plus, it looks very strange!
streetlight98   [Feb 12, 2012 at 07:41 PM]
(Knocks down pole and puts up a new CMH 115)
joe_347V   [Feb 12, 2012 at 07:51 PM]
(Replaces 115 with NOS 175w MV Powerlite B2227)
gailgrove   [Feb 12, 2012 at 07:53 PM]
I wouldn't mind either personally, both are better than this mess!
streetlight98   [Feb 12, 2012 at 08:29 PM]
(Puts 115 back on pole and takes B2227 home)
BULB FREAK   [Feb 12, 2012 at 09:29 PM]
(goes to the US put up a crapy cosmopall streetlight and takes the 115 back home to the UK)
gailgrove   [Feb 12, 2012 at 09:34 PM]
Crappy Cosmopolis? Those are very good lamps from what I understand, I wish they would put them up over LED and induction!
BULB FREAK   [Feb 12, 2012 at 09:39 PM]
the ballast that run them go caboom in less than a year Mad watt is more planit frendly : having 2 replace a streetlight evry year or stick a MV streetlight with a good MV lamp and not have 2 tuch it for the next 40 years
gailgrove   [Feb 12, 2012 at 09:42 PM]
Do the lamps die or is it the ballast? Sure mercs would be nice but that's no longer an option.
BULB FREAK   [Feb 12, 2012 at 09:50 PM]
its the ballasts that die. well I know you can not get probe start MH streetlights eny more but the PSMH ballasts from 175-1000W are the same as Probe start ballast ecsept they have an ignitor so you can get a PSMH streetlight remove the ignitore and run an MV lamp
gailgrove   [Feb 12, 2012 at 10:20 PM]
Sure you can, but no area is going to be converting all of their streetlights to mercury, that is the reason I would prefer CMH. You can also get magnetic ballasted CMH which would work better and last longer.
Antstar85   [Feb 12, 2012 at 11:38 PM]
I always love the quality Boston puts in their Streetlight Installations.
streetlight98   [Feb 12, 2012 at 11:42 PM]
My guess is the ballast died so they just put an incandescent in there...
