Well there goes the M-400A and Welcome the LEOTEK GC1-40c
Well So long GE M-400A for I was not home to save you. I know Live on a road lit by LED streetlights. These are not the worst but I'll Miss My classic GE's. This is the Light in front of My Neighbors/My House.

They replaced a 250 watt HPS with this 93 watt LED, I'm going to see how different it is tonight.

Ick! Another aluminum waffle! LED street lights really do look like they were run over by the bucket truck before they were isntalled.

I never thought the day would come where I would have LED lighting on my street.

Well, unless the city requests LED here or NGrid gets some LED freebees to test out, NGRid territory should remain LED free sicne NGrid is pretty cheap. I found out that they only pay about $60 per light since they buy in huge quanities and have a deal with GE. If anything, my area will likely see GE LED fixtures if we see any of them soon..

I noticed some GE M-400A's along Washington Boulevard in Pittsburgh were also replaced with these same LED fixtures.

I wish I was home when they changed them out, I would of saved the M-400A. Mad Sad

I would have had a heart attack if I was around in the 90's when RI changed out 1000's of it's merc to HPS.

I'm now waiting for it to get dark to see the difference. I guess the only plus is now my road it lit with white light.

I have just noticed Holyoke Gas & Electric is reusing the PC's from the exsisting fixtures! Shocked That has to be the dumbest thing ever since some of the fixtures that they removed had bad PC's and we now have Brand New LED streetlights that don't even work.
streetlight98   [Mar 03, 2012 at 03:26 AM]
Dayburning killed them?
joe_347V   [Mar 03, 2012 at 03:28 AM]
Rolling Eyes Spent all the money on $$$ LED fixtures

Don't have enough for new PCs.
Antstar85   [Mar 03, 2012 at 11:07 AM]
These were all failed off controls and they seemed to never of checked to make sure the fixtures work.

The LED units installed here last year for COP17 have only had 1 failure so far, one section of 1 unit will start dim, and stay that way all night. I would guess the slow start circuitry has a shorted capacitor for that ballast driving about 2/3 of the array. The rest starts normally, and runs up to brilliant light, while this section is still just in start up, at around 1/4 output.
mercuryvaporrocks   [Mar 03, 2012 at 12:26 PM]
I bet some of the pc's they're using aren't even compatible with LED fixtures.
streetlight98   [Mar 03, 2012 at 02:55 PM]
Why would they be uncompatible with LED fixtures?
