I've seen places that convert to induction and LED use fluorescent or HID spot replacements. I guess replacement induction and LEd crap is too pricey. I don't see anything wrong with fluorescents and HID.
yeah and we can't fix them because we only got the contract to install/retrofit not replace, so who knows when the stuff fails what will happen, my guess is cheap CFLs and just disconnect the ballasts
Hmm. yeah i wonder how long the stuff will last. I think the kind of work you do is really cool but if i were you i'd be hoarding all the old ballasts i remove and my parents would hate me. With he situation I'm in right now though i'd probably end up sellng them on eBay anyways lol.
i only save the best of the ballasts, the rest just goes into the recycle bin, we get money for the HID ballasts for sure, probably not anything on the electronic ballasts though, and i have thought about ebaying some for $10 starting bid, i already offered them on LG and here but only 1 taker, i have close to 60 ballasts, most being MH 175W and 150W a few 400W too
a typical store has about 30 ballasts come from it, we usually do 2 per day
me too. yeah LED is akready starting to become the standard. more people are switched to LED than any other "green" light source combined it seems, at least here. I still see new parking lots get PSMH though which is nice but for how much longer...
