Yep! The model 25 is becoming very scarce around here. The town of easthampton maybe had 15 or so left up till last week when they were all replaced with crappy LED streetlights.
Something to know....if the Model 13 or Model 25 had a little square groove on the front just above the latch....then it's from the 80s but if it is smooth and no hole or groove on the front...it's a 70s version! We still have plenty around here...mercs under BGE, both mercs and HPS under PEPCO and all HPS under the state lighting.....theres more of those in HPS.....
I'm going to try and see if I can get one of the model 25s from the town of easthampton. The city is all about LED lighting now and is in the process of replacing 500 of there 1100 lights to LED. I know these model 25s are from the 80s because I remember when they put them up. Memories!
LOL!! Yep there will always be something different lighting roadways. I just wish LED lights weren't such an eyesore. Mike, here in Holyoke we actually still have a quite a few model 13 up in service. The are mostly the powr/door version but there are maybe 2 dozen single door ones as well.
Joe, we have too many gulls, we can't really get them endangered! But studies shows gull turds more than a factory can make bulbs! So why not use those danged gulls!
Then after all this, these gull methane vapor lights are in service 30 years, well be saying " they put those gull methane vapor lights up in the 40s, memories! I hate those resistive plasma lights"
And after that it's "They put all those Resistive Plasma Lights they put up in the 70s, now they are using mirrors to transfer sun light to the other side of the Earth, I HATE THOSE MIRRORS!"
Model 25 FCO's are EVER so common in Denver, maybe 1000-2000 in Denver left? xD Prolly around there but still a lot. I guess when the HPS bug hit Denver they replaced like every light. I guess when there was a contract with AE they used the Model 25's and when they had a contract with GE they used M-400 A1 FCO's. For medium fixtures.
Anyways I guess you can say the same thing when:
gas lighting replaced candles
arc lighting replaced gas lighting
incandescent replaced arc lighting
mercury vapour replaced incandescent
high pressure sodium replaced mercury vapour
And Joe...its "Flies" not "Flys"
