Those fixtures would probably look better on tapered Elliptical arms Rolling Eyes

ehh. I just dont like them at all.
joe_347V   [Aug 17, 2011 at 08:41 PM]
Same here, I never really liked LED streetlights.
Antstar85   [Aug 17, 2011 at 08:42 PM]
the city of Easthampton is replacing 500 of it 1100 lights with these to. I took a night drive last weekend and they do not put out nearly as much light as the 250 hps that were there before.
GullWhiz   [Aug 17, 2011 at 08:47 PM]
I would rather go for Induction Fixtures that the electrical company called PSE&G in New Jersey uses...they do a great job! They look nearly like MV!!!
Antstar85   [Aug 17, 2011 at 08:48 PM]
Yeah NU has a test road in springfield with 100 watt Induction fixtures and they do a nice job
gailgrove   [Aug 17, 2011 at 08:48 PM]
I would rather see ceramic metal halide.
Antstar85   [Aug 17, 2011 at 08:51 PM]
Anything but the LED lights is better in my opinion.
joe_347V   [Aug 17, 2011 at 08:52 PM]
Same with me, Vaughan changed out their HPS lights in industrial area to LED and the HPS was far better at night.
The LEDs have a spotty distribution and they are a bit glary.

Rolling Eyes HID minded..... Rolling Eyes
Antstar85   [Aug 17, 2011 at 08:53 PM]
Us HID fanatics just dont want CHANGE!
joe_347V   [Aug 17, 2011 at 08:54 PM]
HID rules! Razz
GullWhiz   [Aug 17, 2011 at 08:54 PM]
LOL I know I like HID...but I am open to any white source....that is just as cool...LOL

Now I wouldn't mind an HID streetlight with changing color LEDs around the reflector and perhaps lined up to the arms...just for the fun!
Antstar85   [Aug 17, 2011 at 08:57 PM]
I hope Induction will become big but i don't see that happening. at least there fixtures still look like real cobraheads.
gailgrove   [Aug 17, 2011 at 08:58 PM]
I hope CMH will replace HPS and MV, at least it is still a HID source.
joe_347V   [Aug 17, 2011 at 08:59 PM]
Me too.
Antstar85   [Aug 17, 2011 at 09:00 PM]
I agree Niall, at least with the CMH they figured out how to get them to last more than 10,000 hours.
joe_347V   [Aug 17, 2011 at 09:02 PM]
And CMH retrofits pretty nicely into existing HPS cobreheads too, they even make drop in CMH retrofits for 250 and 400w HPS.
gailgrove   [Aug 17, 2011 at 09:03 PM]
Plus they can also run on magnetic ballasts and don't have those short lived electronic drivers that get fried far to easily.
Antstar85   [Aug 17, 2011 at 10:37 PM]
according to LRLs website these lights are guaranteed to last 20 years maintenece free. Rolling Eyes
