Black "Silverliner"
They are Coopers but I guess they tried to make them a bit more decorative by painting them black, a few have been replaced by unpainted OVXs which doesn't look at all good.

They have some in Mississauga and in downtown Toronto too...some have flaky paint.
gailgrove   [Sep 18, 2011 at 05:44 PM]
This one is in Mississauga, Brampton doesn't seem to do painted cobras.

Here they use black poles, but the fixtures are the regular gray. It still looks pretty good.

An unpainted OVX doesn't look that bad, but there are better looking fixtures in my opinion.
gailgrove   [Sep 20, 2011 at 01:35 AM]
I meant the unpainted OVX didn't look good on black arms and poles replacing an OV-25.

FCO OVX looks the oddest! Razz
streetlight98   [Sep 20, 2011 at 02:35 AM]
Yeah. They look pretty good with the glass lens thoguh.
gailgrove   [Sep 20, 2011 at 02:36 AM]
Yeah I like the look of the OVX with a drop refractor, not the quality though.

The MH coopers aren't that bad. The MVs were EXCELLENT, but the don't make them anymore. Mad
joe_347V   [Sep 20, 2011 at 02:44 AM]
I just don't like it when they stuff 200w+ HPS lamps in the OVX which causes them to cycle after a few months of use. Rolling Eyes

Oddly OVX looks like a streamlined Unidor. Shocked
streetlight98   [Sep 20, 2011 at 02:47 AM]
MH is fine confined in the small space. For HPS it is a big issue. If they don't make small 250w fixtures, cunsumers will go to another company who does. It's not about quality anymore. it's all about cost. Rolling Eyes
joe_347V   [Sep 20, 2011 at 02:48 AM]
Well at least they don't install 400w OVXs anymore.
gailgrove   [Sep 20, 2011 at 02:51 AM]
They do here, it's used almost exclusively for 400 watt installations, I have seen a few 125s installed too. 115s are mostly used for 70, 150 and 250 watt lights, sometimes OVZs are used though.
streetlight98   [Sep 20, 2011 at 02:52 AM]
They just install GE here. Any coopers it's a OVZ.
gailgrove   [Sep 20, 2011 at 02:54 AM]
I don't really care for GEs, they don't have many options and don't come in unpainted. I like AEL the best, I would use the 115, 125 and 327 personally.
streetlight98   [Sep 20, 2011 at 02:55 AM]
True, but i find GEs to be the best built. i like GE best. Just my preference thoguh....
joe_347V   [Sep 20, 2011 at 02:56 AM]
For build quality GE is the way to go imo, but AEL and Cooper has a lot more options. Although if they started making Powerlites again...
gailgrove   [Sep 20, 2011 at 02:57 AM]
I think Hubbell and Lumec are likely even better quality, but they cost even more.
joe_347V   [Sep 20, 2011 at 02:58 AM]
I think only MTO, Niagara Falls and Richmond Hill uses Hubbell.

So many blank emails, it's starting to get quite annoying Confused
