Form109   [May 06, 2014 at 04:18 PM]
the only thing that's "crap" about HPS is the color. Razz
traffic light1   [May 06, 2014 at 08:43 PM]
Yes I have the lamp but I need to get more, Thanks for asking. I hate HPS and I don't like how the US uses it. LPS is one big step to saving energy. I will remove all my HPS fixtures and I am mad I ever used it.
You are right HPS has a crap color.
I can only have LPS at my dads home because of the owls and the wet lands The MH Wide-lites can stay because they are for emergency only.
Mike You should be happy all I like now is LPS because what do you think will happen with some of the old fixtures I hate? Laughing

You don't even like mercury vapor anymore? I don't know, I guess you're going to convert all your street lights to LPS?
traffic light1   [May 06, 2014 at 11:52 PM]
I will give some to you Very Happy
streetlight98   [May 07, 2014 at 01:35 AM]
Oh wow thanks! I wish I had the room though. Sad I need to build myself a shed for all my lights. Laughing

You can have the 175w MV you know the light you like to talk about.
streetlight98   [May 07, 2014 at 01:59 AM]
Which one is that?
traffic light1   [May 08, 2014 at 12:22 AM]
I will keep all 700W MV ballast and lamps safe in a EMP proof can. Wink I love 700w MV.
streetlight98   [May 08, 2014 at 02:50 AM]
Are you getting rid of all your non-LPS stuff? The old fixtures like the L-250s, the old GE M-250R, and the Line Material light with the 3Ms you should keep and maybe convert to LPS?
traffic light1   [May 08, 2014 at 11:29 AM]
I am converting the L-250s to 35w LPS-E one will be 18w Line Material will be LPS. OVX will be MV. The intersection has changed big time I will take photos of the new one. The old GE will stay 400w MV Wide Lite will stay 1000w MH, So you have type of street light, Can I give you the 100w HPS? It is the on on the tree.
streetlight98   [May 08, 2014 at 12:01 PM]
Ahh I see. Glad that you're converting some. Will the GE just be used for emergencies?
rjluna2   [May 08, 2014 at 12:23 PM]
Cool, traffic light1 having your own LPS bulb Smile
traffic light1   [May 08, 2014 at 08:43 PM]
No lights at my moms home like the GE are not affected but the L-250 was Laughing
I have lots of LPS lamps 2 90w and 4 18w
streetlight98   [May 08, 2014 at 09:46 PM]
Oh I see. So all-LPS only at your dad's house. Are the L-250 and M-250R the only two street lights at your moms that are outside/mounted?
traffic light1   [May 08, 2014 at 09:48 PM]
Yes
traffic light1   [May 09, 2014 at 01:31 AM]
Word on the street is an Observatory is coming here Shocked they are popping up all over the place in AZ. BUT one is in RI now but they what to make it bigger don't think it was working.
streetlight98   [May 09, 2014 at 01:43 AM]
Ugh i hope they don't put one here. i thought they liked to put them in rural areas? RI is the most densely populated state so it makes no sense putting one here. LPS is the easiest to filter out for the obeservatories since the light has a small wavelength range. Clear mercury vapor lamps are the second easiest to filter. HPS is the third easiest. Coated MV, MH, LED, induction, and any other white-glow source is hard because they have a little of all wavelengths.
traffic light1   [May 09, 2014 at 01:47 AM]
We have one it is in providence I looked on Google, It must not be working Question Hawaii is densely populated too.
streetlight98   [May 09, 2014 at 02:40 AM]
Whereabouts? I didn't know there were any up here. Yeah it could be closed down. I was told in the early days of LPS like in the 1940s there were a few LPS lights in one area (possibly around that observatory) but they never caught on and were replaced with MV clamshells which got replaced with MV cobraheads, which got replaced with HPS cobraheads and will probably get replaced with LEDs in the next 15 years.
traffic light1   [May 09, 2014 at 11:27 AM]
LPS is way better than LED. AZ has put lots of LPS up in 2012 and 2013. Hawaii has lots of LPS too. It is in Providence
