So I uhhh, came across these streetlights today, it's a couple of AEL 115s mounted to a couple of trees. Note that the trees even have "pole" numbers on them.
I think these were the tree mounted streetlights I mentioned in a comment...the AELs are quite new though which makes me wonder what were the original lights I saw...

Yeah, I was like when I first saw it too, and it's been up for while too. I think this might be the same pole I saw back in '95 with what looked like a B2255 on it. Oh and it's on a path in Niagara Falls.
Oh, and Vince you forgot to mention about the easy storage and shipping these wood poles offer. In fact you don't even need tools to install them.

I've seen this done with NEMA heads at Canobie Lake Park in Salem, NH. This sucks, i was over there to go on the skylon too and didn't go down the path.
Anyways, the arms have been there a while since the bark is growing over the mounting plate. Also note the "07" NEMA tag.
