Optisoft and Intelight
|
Optisoft was established in 1997 as the first all-LED spec traffic signal head built on a homeland security platform. It had built in cameras, car crash detectors, predictive failure analysis and other features. They were also designed for future upgrades like license plate detecting, nuclear material detecting, and even biometrics. Those features never were put into production though... They went bankrupt in 2005 after a huge failed project with their pedestrian signals in Los Angeles.
Intelight formed in 2007 and bought the old Optisoft signal design and modified it to be programmable, they added different guts and a different type of lens and door. They also added a wire shield by threading existing molding bosses in the housing. The Intelight has predictive failure analysis, WI-FI compatibility for programming, diagnostic recording, LED dimming, and can also support homeland security and built in cameras
