R.C. Harris Water Treatment Plant
Here's a shot of the interior of one of the local water treatment plants opened up to the public today. This hallway leads to the massive water filtration tanks and settling tanks that are located behind the glass on both side. Those vintage schoolhouse style fixtures have been retrofitted to low wattage metal halide though.

The plant was built in the 1930s and a lot of the original Art Deco lighting, marble, and bronze are still intact. It's really nice looking for a water treatment plant...in fact I think a water treatment plant is the last place you'd think would look like this.

Most Public Utilites building have invested the building originally and they are rarely seen in public. That is why they rarely remodel them during its life. Cool Very Happy

It's surprisingly well decorated for a public utility building too, one would expect a rather utilitarian design for these types of buildings.
