They had to install the lights first so the HVAC guys could see, right? Good thing there are T5's in these indirect fixtures, or those lamps would NOT be coming out. Even then, there is BARELY any clearance. Not to mention it just doesn't look good.
my middle school had these pendant louvered fixtures..some rooms didnt use a drop celing and yep looked horrible..they did have the inner lamps all on one lamp ballasts, the outer lamps also had a ballast so they could be switched either way
Hmm. I think it would be better to leave the fixture right under the HVAC system lampless. My uncle's friend was working at a sewer plant and they isntalled HVAC ducts right under an induction light so he grabbed the gear out of it and gave it to me. I have the 85W Philips induction lamp and driver in my closet.
LOL yeah, I never cease to be amazed by those really cheesy ways people decide to divide rooms up with walls put right in front of windows, fluorescent fixtures, etc. I guess the troffer in your case could light two rooms though...relamping would just be harder as you'd have to lift up the ceiling tiles to get to the fixture!
yeah don't you just love those amatur DIY people who think they know everything about anything when in reality they can't tell their left from their right?
Or when they wall off 8' slimline striplights...can't think of a particular instance but I somehow know I've seen that done...just can't remember where.
I hate those walls put up in the middle of an 8' strip or a 4' troffer too. I tried to relamp one of those troffers blocked by a wall years ago, and I got the old tubes out, but couldn't get the new ones in. I was told to just "leave it alone"...I'm sure it's still dark today.
