GE red traffic light lens, brand new!
One of the today's surprise my dad got from work. At the utility's warehouse, they are cleaning and a lot of stuff is going to trash. I apparently missed three streetlight from give or take a week. But lots of stuff is coming up if my dad's right! Streetlights, PCs, traffic lights, etc.

Here's an brand new LED traffic light lens that somehow was about being thrown away. The guy that give it to my dad works with him now and is actually the same guy that gave me my streetlight! What a cool coincidence!!

GE GELcores are also Popular in Louisiana...Shreveport has them in Virturally all but a Few Signals.

Yeah I know. They are everywhere in Bossier. I see some in Shreveport too. Its popular there. And now I know how to spot a GELcore now xD They have lots of these in littleton on the newer double davit signal setups.

Wow Vince...you are a lighting magnet!
TiCoune66   [Aug 05, 2010 at 12:49 AM]
Well, I think the magnet got demagnetized a bit Laughing My dad cannot really promise anything when it's about getting lighting stuff from work. I don't want him to be in trouble too. I may have better chances to get stuff if I actually BUY it.
Form109   [Aug 05, 2010 at 02:01 AM]
Hey Vince it'd be cool if you could Find a Green and Yellow GELcore too.....then you could also make your Own Signal Housing (Vince Electric Signal Division) Laughing
TiCoune66   [Aug 05, 2010 at 02:28 AM]
"Vince Electric - Signals division", that sounds good!

I could already make a one-lens unit, that could be a cool project to work on!
joe_347V   [Aug 05, 2010 at 03:33 AM]
Well you could always try to make one of those flasher signals with one signal lens Wink but you have to figure out how to make it flash...

One Lense as in a Single Section Signal that Displays all Three Colors in the Same Section instead of Splitting it into 3?
joe_347V   [Aug 05, 2010 at 03:53 AM]
^^^ That's a pretty cool idea Devonte I've never heard of a single lensed signal that displays all three colours.

I wonder how the drivers would act if they started using those signals instead Very Happy
GullWhiz   [Aug 05, 2010 at 09:03 AM]
That's a GREAT idea.....howerever....here's a issue.......colorblind?
Form109   [Aug 05, 2010 at 10:45 AM]
make it a Backlight High Intensity LCD....that Displays a Red Triangle,Square Yellow, and Oval Green.... Very Happy
GullWhiz   [Aug 05, 2010 at 11:11 AM]
Hummmm....the red should be Octigon....yellow should be triangle...and green should be circle.........hmmm?

Also....what about arrows buddy...
Form109   [Aug 05, 2010 at 12:29 PM]
It's all so Complicated...no wonder they make 3 Section Heads...also...That's Octagon...not Octigon Wink
Also Being that it would be an LCD Screen it could Display Arrows as well...but the Circuitry would be too much of a Hassle....anyway Why should Red be the OCTAGON,Yellow the Triangle and Green the Circle?....Prehaps we should Turn this into another Drawing Contest> Cool
GullWhiz   [Aug 05, 2010 at 01:57 PM]
Dude....a Stop Sign is octagon shaped....
A warning sign (yellow) is usually diamond or Pentagon shaped....
A circle is a friendly shape, therefore its green!

And no....this won't....plus I am waiting for Dave DeSantis to finish drawing cobrahead design.....for the contest....I don' t think enough people made any drawings...so why would next one be good?
TiCoune66   [Aug 05, 2010 at 03:18 PM]
I think you guys don't see what I meant LOL. What I want to make is indeed a flashing light, kinda like this one, but in only ONE direction, I know one in yellow not far from me.

Oh and BTW concerning the contest, I made a complete datasheet for one of my three models, which is going to be my official entry Wink
GullWhiz   [Aug 05, 2010 at 08:30 PM]
I actually got it...I wasn't really following everything....and I was using the mobile screen which was way too small.........

And go for it Vince.....

Hmm. Looks amber in the photo even though it's red.
LilCinnamon   [Feb 24, 2011 at 03:39 AM]
My GELcores were made in Québec Canada! Where you are Vince!
basilicon89   [Feb 24, 2011 at 04:04 AM]
The GELcore name, once again, was the former name of the ENTIRE GE traffic line. This model you have is the RX-11. GELcore was changed to GE Lumination a few years back and the GT-1 line was developed.
TiCoune66   [Feb 24, 2011 at 12:41 PM]
Yay! Cool Mine is likely from here as well.

Yeah it's definitely red Wink
