Fluorescent Fixture Stash
This is the utility room (lit by the 1973 RS shoplite with the universal therm-o-matic ballast, running two GE SP41 EcoLux lamps). There is the SIMKAR Strip light to the right with a GE F20T12 cool white EcoLux lamp, the Pittsburg Reflector Co. Western Electric spec'ed fixture (aka the freakin' awesome industrial thingy lol) with a used KEN-RAD lamp and a Philips 2700K K&B alto with painted ends. To the left of that is the 1990s Cooper Metalux NOS F40/RS fixture with bi-pin plunger sockets and two Philips cool white Econ-o-watts. To the left of that (not pictured) is the WWII era single lamp preheat industrial with no lamp and the Hubbell NeoStart starter that it had when i got it.

Nice, sounds like you stuck that Universal ballast back in! Way to go!! Is it the same one with the torn label?
Does the Alto look anything like your standard 2700K triphosphor spiral CFL?

yeah the thermomatic have been in and yep its the original torn label one. i honestly don't know how it is compared to a CFL but it's not vomit pink like /WW tubes lol.

Can you try comparing it to a spiral?
LOL yeah...but WW looks sorta peachy-orange next to wide-spectrum Grow-Lux lamps...One of my lights has some plants going under it for the winter hence the plant bulbs.
