Light Liftin' (or should I say heavy lifting!)
Inspired by [url=http://www.galleryoflights.org/mb/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-6053] Jace's OV-20 picture. [/url] Pretty heavy too lol. Not sure of the exact weight but the pole is around 5 pounds and the cobraheads are probably 20-25 pounds each.

Both M-250R1s are NOS. The Left one is the 175W MV November 1974 one. I stuck a M-250R2 plastic lens in it to keep the weight even (i store it with a shallow GE glass). The one on the right is my HPS Chicago GE M-250CF from May 1981. And there's me in the middle looking as sharp as ever lol.

Imagine if I tried this with the two M-400A2s? No way lol. Looking back, I should have kept the cords on these and had them lit during the pic. BTW, this is a ~4ft leftover section of 1-1/4" EMT from my bedroom light pole project this past summer. I plan to use this as the mast arm for the new light pole I plan to put outback to replace the wimpy one I have out there now. That is if I can find a pipe bender. I wonder if a muffler bender can put a 90-degree bend in this?

Lol cool pic Mike Cool I think you should take another pic of both of them lit this time.

LOL OK but it will be a while since I have the wake to attend tomorrow, the funeral the following day, and then back to school. And my family's coming over for my birthday next weekend. So i won't have any time for the next couple weeks but I'll do it when i get a chance. Cool

Nice! Laughing I don't have two identical lights so mine will probably look weird. Razz
streetlight98   [Apr 27, 2014 at 04:34 AM]
LOL yeah i used two identical lights to make it look better plus it helps with balancing it. Though the MV one on the left still weighed more.

Now thats a workout Cool Nice pic that looks like a fun alternative
streetlight98   [Apr 27, 2014 at 03:22 PM]
@ Darren; no way! I couldn't lift the two of them lol.

@ Model25FanForever; just make sure you don't drop the weights! Laughing Shocked

@Mike: I guess you can get yourself a really good exercise from this Very Happy
NiMo   [Apr 28, 2014 at 01:14 AM]
Meh, try doing that with a couple of HPS M1000s with 2" galvanized rigid conduit.
streetlight98   [Apr 28, 2014 at 02:09 AM]
If you can do it then I give you a lot of credit. I don't think most people (myself included) could deadlift that much weight. I don't have much upper body strength for my size. I don't think i could lift a pair of M-400A2s nevermind M-1000s lol.
Form109   [Apr 29, 2014 at 01:34 AM]
I say let's see a picture of that Nimo! Razz
GEsoftwhite100watts   [May 13, 2014 at 01:13 AM]
Nice! You're way shorter than me! How long can you hold it for? I couldn't do this at all!
Wake/funeral? Oh no! Did a family member pass away?
streetlight98   [May 13, 2014 at 01:56 AM]
Thanks! LOL well a lot of people are taller than me. How tall are you? I stand at about 5ft 5in. Razz I just did it for the pic. Yeah my grandpa passed away back on April 22. He would have been 74 this May 24th.
GEsoftwhite100watts   [May 13, 2014 at 02:03 AM]
This the same one with the auto shop full of slimlines and HOs? If so if you can I'd try to save an 8ft fixture before you guys sell it...
I'm about 5' 11" I think...
streetlight98   [May 13, 2014 at 02:49 AM]
no, this is my dad's dad, the one with the F90T17 desk light and the F40 Western Electric spec'd fixtures.
GEsoftwhite100watts   [May 13, 2014 at 03:47 AM]
Aw man! Does this mean those are in the offing for you now? If you live in the area (Which I assume you do) it'll be easier to save those...when my mom passed away I had to let some 80s Philips F40CWs go since shipping would've been too hard...
streetlight98   [May 13, 2014 at 12:09 PM]
Yeah my dad's parents live on the other side of the same city i live in (Cranston). I will casually bring it up a year or two. I would feel weird taking them so soon after he passed. Neutral plus i have no room anyways, they'd just go out in the shed.
GEsoftwhite100watts   [May 14, 2014 at 01:18 AM]
Yeah you don't want to sound selfish...I guess this means Grandma still lives there I presume? Or the house is being given to another family member?
streetlight98   [May 14, 2014 at 02:41 AM]
Yep my grandma and aunt still live there (my aunt never moved out lol).
GEsoftwhite100watts   [May 14, 2014 at 02:43 AM]
Oh good...those lights aren't going anywhere anytime soon then...
