NOS Ripley-made Intelliswitch ***Dayburner*** NOS right outta the box but yep, dayburner... And I have a very used electronic Ripley from 1983 that still works great. It looks vastly different from this though. This one is probably from the late 80s, not 1985 like the others since the circuit board isn't far off from what we see today. My 1983 electronic ripley had the circuit board "standing up" inside. You can see that's a Ripley cover with the top sanded down to remove the wording. Keywords: Gear

I partially peeled off the Intelliswitch label on the base and the Ripley tag underneath has a date of 1988.

OH MY GOD!!!! THIS WORKS!!!! I've been using this as a shorting cap on my M-250R1 and i turned it on and after about five minutes it SHUT OFF! WHAT?!?!?!?! It all of a sudden decided to come out of retirement! Laughing Shocked Very Happy

Time-delay PCs can be a pain to differentiate!

It wasn't the time delay. The time delay on it is three seconds. I have been using this in my brightly lit room as a shorting cap since I got it. I had the M-250R1 running today and after like 10 minutes I heard a "c-clink" nd the light went out. It took me a second and my eyes went wide and i got a smile on my face. I jumped up from my desk and put my hand over the PC and the light turned back on (though the lamp didn't since it had to hot restrike). took my hand off and surely enough the ballast turned off! So this bad boy works! Crazy stuff! Very Happy

Weird...maybe some little capacitor somewhere took awhile to "charge up" after sitting unpowered for years/decades?

Cool that it works now! Anyway I guess either the cap reformed while you ran it for a while or the relay got unstuck. Since it was from the early 80s, the cap might have been getting old and needed some time to work properly again.

Some people will unsolder and solder in new caps, I've done that before to my monitor since the CCFL inverter board (basically a electronic ballast) had a few blown caps on it that were causing issues.

Yeah I'm glad it works. BTW, i found out this one is from 1988, not 1985 like the others. Still old for an electronic PC though I suppose. Under the Intelliswitch label is a Ripley label with the circle sticker on it with the date. I guess it just needed to be broken in like you said. Like a new pair of shoes I guess lol.
