THROWBACK THURSDAY RIDOT: Shot of the Providence Viaduct (I-95) On Opening Day
This is when the Providence Viaduct first opened to traffic in 1964. Those are OV-25 flatbottoms! Or maybe transition fixtures with the single door and forward PC socket. [/url] However, they're in the process of entirely redoing the 50-year-old interchange, as it is aging and was not designed for the traffic load it carries today.

It must have been brand new in the picture! Very Happy A little fun fact: the I-95 portion here is actually two separate bridges built side-by-side, not one bridge for both directions of traffic. Today, each side of the bridge carries four lanes of traffic with no breakdown lane.
