Is this a Cooper Metalux turret? If so, I have one of these in my garage, though mine has a solid top reflector versus one with holes on the top. Mine is new from the 1990s, nice fixture, but the sockets are cheesy. Mine is F40T12 with a magnetic rapid start Advance ballast.

Those are the vented reflector fixture. I have seen at the M building at my local university where I attended. I should make a capture when I get back to school in couple of weeks. That is really an old school fixtures

Make sure the lamp EOLs don't melt the tube guards. That's a problem with T8s on instant start ballasts but not sure if it's an issue with T12HOs.

Eh, I don't hate them, but I definitely don't like them. The avitar is supposed to be a parody of a no parking sign. Instead of a "P" inside the red no symbol, it's a CFL lol.

I kinda like them since everyone else in my family/household hated (and hates) them. But mainly since they can be found in 5000K or 6500K.

No one in my family except my aunt and uncle and cousins house have CFLs. No one on my dad's side has CFLs (they're all old-school anyway lol).
