This was a major PITA to install. I was going to take the easy way out and suspend the fixture and use a screw-in outlet adapter but none of my outlet adapters made good contact. So I decided to do it right and screwed the fixture to the ceiling joists with hex roofing screws, and replaced the existing light fixture with a duplex outlet.
