Inside of the 1990 Series 113
Pretty big ballast for a 50W HPS! Nice and simple wiring too. I'm happy the ignitor works since this fixture had been out for a couple of years (turns out the lamp's arc tube exploded!). Typically when a HPS stops working cold turkey it's the ignitor or an open circuit. The 2010 Sun-Tech photocell works just fine too!

It's old enough to have a AE made ballast too, before they started rebrand Advance ballasts lol.

LOL Yeah the Advance ballasts didn't start until Acuity Brands bought the American Electric line. Up until Thomas & Betts sold the line they had AE ballasts. The AE reactor ballasts like this are OK but a lot of their bigger ballasts have sloppy windings, even back to the 70s.

For a 50W HPS though this ballast is huge. My other 50 and 70W HPS cobraheads have MUCH smaller chokes. Maybe because this has aluminum windings it's bigger because of the thicker gauge wire? This is probably about the size of my 150W HPS ballasts.
