My Neighborhood M250R2 Got Replaced By a LED
After a idk how long of a hiatus of being inactive, I've come back to say my town is going LED. I found this out 2 weeks ago when I saw for myself LEDs popping up in neighborhoods on the other side of town. I figured that I may have some time to prep myself to see if I could get this streetlight since they only started far, far away from my house. But nope, I woke up to my street completely LED this morning. I am NOT happy, and honestly quite depressed over it. Why do I never catch these guys in the act? They are like LED fairies or something.

RIP my streetlight that got me into lighting in the first place.

ANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNND I just overwritten everything I ever posted on this site trying to make a new album. For f*** sakes, this is not a good day

@Mike heh I just managed to wipe my entire gallery out by making a new folder so I had to re-upload it. eh, it was all buried to begin with. Glad to hear life is moving quite smoothly for yah! That's awesome to hear! I'm currently going to college for IT stuff. As for my collection, no I still don't have any streetlights. That's why I'm extremely upset today because they came by as I slept... But, I'm gonna try to get back into this forum again because I still have a lot of unseen pictures to upload.

But yeah, I'll still be trying to look out for these linemen as they replace, if i ever see them Rolling Eyes

Oh no that's awful! I have some duplicate street lights and I'm happy to set you up with one or two of them if you'd like! Good luck in college too. They changed the lights on my street to LED while I was at college one morning. I had an 8AM to 11AM class and when I left my street was HPS and when I came home half my neighborhood was LED. Was a bummer of a day for me. I was expecting them to come by overnight so I was sleeping with my window shade up and my window cracked open slightly (was winter), hoping that the diesel engine and yellow strobe lights would wake me up when they came by. I did see them changing an AE 113 on the street when I was headed to work one morning but I didn't stop. Kind of wish I did.

Man I would love that! I would much appreciate it, thank you! Yeah we'll have to make a date some day soon perhaps. My schedule at the moment is extremely busy from college/family and whatnot but I'll be sure to let you know. Nice talking to yah again, Mike!

No problem! Yeah my aunt and grandma just moved into a new house (well new from 1946 lol, with a 1987 addition) and the original half of the house needs to be completely rewired along with the entire basement, so I'll be super busy for the next month or so. Totally down to meet up with another local street light collector! I've been fortunate to meet several now. Smile

I've seen a lot of LEDizing lately here too

We Finally are going LED where I work, the era of HID is coming to an end.

Wow I guess National Grid is the only utility around here still using HPS. I wonder how long that will last.

Jeez, that's a little upsetting Razz

Sorry to hear you didn't get it, that sucks. If you ever get the chance again, put a note or poster on the pole asking them to leave the old light on your doorstep. I was able to get the streetlight outside of my childhood home ( a 100w HPS AEL 113) by doing this.

A lot of the smaller towns and cities here in Ontario got LEDs around 2016-2018. I think at this point most of the HID streetlights left are in the GTA. Mostly in Toronto with a small number left in the outer suburbs.
