The Cooper and Crouse-Hinds Canadian OV-25's are one of my favorites, here's my 250W HPS.
Manufacture date: Dec. 1994
Made in: Canada
Voltage: 120/240V
Amperage: 2.60A @ 120V 1.30A @ 240V
looks like a few of the design differences from the 70s Silverliners are the photocell is more forward away from slipfitter area, the front latch is a slightly a bit different design...same for the hidge
Unfortunately I do not have an older Westy in my collection to compare with, but I would say these Canadian OV-25's are the best quality of the Coopers, especially over the OVH/G OVF/D models. These haven't changed much since Crouse-Hinds from the 80's.
Now This i Like....do you Local Utilities use these on Wooden Poles?....the ones in my Area only turn up on Signal and Interstate Poles...those are always FCO too.
@form109, over here in Ontario the local utilities use them on wooden poles. I've also seen them on concrete poles, signal poles and the highway poles. They're usually mounted on 8 foot tapered e arms but I have seem them on the shorter 6 foot truss arms too.
I like this too!!! The Utility doesn't use these anymore, there were some back in the mercury vapour days, there is still one missed fixture about 6 miles from me on an 8 ft tapered E installed back in the early 80's,it hasn't worked for nearly 20 years and it's on a busy road.A few years ago the road was improved, widened with sidewalks etc. and Davit poles with GE M-400A3's were installed along there and it wasn't removed. Now here in Abbotsford I only know of 5 of these on Davits, one controlled intersection has four of these in FCO and another one with a drop lens in a set of mixed fixtures. Vancouver has alot of these.
Hey Darren, Do you have any lights you are willing to trade? If you want an older Westinghouse OV-25 I would be willing to trade my second OV-25 for a light you are willing to trade.
