Nice light, was this the one you had from a few years ago that you ended up restoring? BTW, I recently learned that Princess Auto sold these in their surplus section back in the day. They still streetlights now too, I bought a Roadfocus RFS there a month ago.
Thanks Joe! No this is another one I found locally on Craigslist. It was in pretty good shape, just gave it a new paint job. The top housing on the other one was pretty much shot, just the bottom door and glass was good. I had it set up to swap with the bottom door and reflector from the M-250R that I got from Jace. I had some literature that Princess Auto sold mercury vapour lights back in the day, I wondered what type they sold, that's cool info you recently found out! Yes I noticed they recently had 38W Philips Roadfocus streetlights in their surplus, I also bought one of them.
Ahh cool that you were able to find another one. Looks great with the new paint job. Did this come with a lamp? I think the Princess Auto ones originally were sold with a clear Sylvania girder frame lamp. That's what mine came with.
Anyway here's the link to the catalogues. I saw several models of streetlights. One looked like a Powerlite mini gumball sold as a 300w incandescent light, another was a 100w MV OV-10, there were also 400w MV and 1000w MV cobraheads in several years but I couldn't identify the model from the catalogue drawing.
Nice to hear you got one of those 38w LED Roadfocus streetlights too, for LED lights they're pretty nice and they're 3000K too which I prefer over 5000K for streetlighting.
Thanks! No it didn't come with a lamp. That's cool you got one with the original supplied lamp. Thanks for the link! Wow that's cool they had them for sale for quite a length of time! The Roadfocus is a nice little fixture, I might get another if they go on sale.
Ahh. Here's the lamp that came in mine. I saw another seller with another 175w Crimefighter that had the same lamp from the same era so I figured these were probably all sold with these lamps.
Yeah, it's really cool they had them on sale for so long. BTW the Roadfocus is on sale in their latest flyer too so you might want to grab one if you're still considering a second one.
That's a nice vintage lamp that came with yours! Yes I noticed the RoadFocus fixtures are on sale. I placed an order online from the local store for one incase someone grabbed them before I could get there. That was a good move because the store was out of stock not long after I ordered it. It should arrive tomorrow.
