Medved: There are people, like me, who don't like absolute darkness at night so they can orientate in the dark without turning the lights on. It is also a nice thing to see the path to your house at night, see the keyhole in the doors etc.
And why you don't install small lights for this? Adding light, when somebody need or want it, is easy. Removing, when it disturb, is impossible.
OK, doing itthe way ike on the picture is not the best, sometimes going simply for lower wattage lamp might finally solve the problem for all... Especially in US, where one 400W pole is used on place, where two 70W would do the job way better.
That's ridiculous what this neighbor did, if he wants more light in front of his house then maybe he should go to the hardware store and buy his own light for his own front yard.
this one would be either 100 watt or 150 watt HPS. my electric company uses 100 watt the lowest, and plus the above is a smaller fixture, in this area we use bigger fixtures on 250 watt. so This one for sure is either 100 or 150 watt. (UPDATE) saw the tag, this is 100 watt MV!
Thats Good Jace,my Area is now using Small Fixtures for the low and high wattages...its really Annoying! ..the small fixtures cycle more frequently and sooner than the larger fixtures with the same wattage of lamp,in some cases only weeks after they were installed,the coopers seem to be the worst,but the GE's are cycling too.
When whoever did this they were not thinking about how the rest of the street won't get lit. (At least it would not be as bright as it should be.) I like how it is MV! and not HPS.
