Cool to see these outside the UK, it's one of my favourite Street Lights I have one exactly the same see HERE, mine is wired with a Mini Photocell, European Control Gear and 70w HPS Lamp.

Later Lights were made with a GRP (Fibreglass Housing) and Shallow Bowl Later Lights were made with a Deeper Bowl to comply with the European Street Lighting Regulations.

All the Best

Colin

Hi Colin, this also is one of my favorite smaller fixtures,I'm glad to get this one to go with my Thorn Beta 5. I aquired my Thorn Beta 5 in 1986, and it took over 24 years later to get a Thorn Beta 79 to go with it.

Hi Darren, i too had the Same Problem too I have had a Beta 5 from about 1985 as they were more popular them by my local lighting Department, I didnt get my First Beta 79 until 2001 when I got it from a fellow Collector in the UK, since 2005 I have managed to get 6 more which are all GRP but in different Wattages/Bowls two have NO photocells , 3 have NEMA photocell Sockets, and 1 GRP and the Aluminium lamp has a Mini Photocell

All the Best

Colin
