Because the 12 inch DuraSig left turn signal is top heavy I can't open up the door without holding the signal, so I didn't get much of a good shot here. But this is the interior of the solid yellow arrow indication (Second from the top) The LED module is one of the flattest I've seen, and is a GE GT1. All the housings on this signal look the same inside, with the terminal strip mounted in the green arrow section in the bottom.
Eagle introduced DURASIG in 1973. It has had three different generations in production from 1973 till today and one prototype that was developed in 1970. The door hinge design was to keep the signal streamlined, It didn't have portruding hinges making it more areodynamic and keep the clean look. A few companies copied it. TrafCon and Kentron used similar designs to their front doors...Econolite also is using a streamlined design to their newer heads but use wingnuts in place of the thumbscrews. DuraSigs are somewhat better made than McCain and last about 20 years. McCain's plastic heads aren't as bad as their aluminum. Eagle stuff costs more than McCain

Especially the screws to close the door are different. Is this to make the signal look nicer?
The Durasigs sure do look nice, and I bet they are built well too, better then the McCain trash.
