Louisiana has a Similar Setup also.

From what I've seen New York also uses a similar setup in rural areas. Ontario doesn't use span wire signals for most areas.

in my Area Spans are Usually Temporary....the Metal Ones are semi permenant.

Permanent span wire installations are very rare in California, can only think of three.

i Think Span Wire Setup's are Much Cheaper than Fixed Mast signals....but they most Definetly Sway More in the Wind.

My area has a mix of span wire and fixed mast setups.
Form109   [Jun 09, 2010 at 11:20 PM]
we Also have a Mixture...we also have two Types of Span Wire Setup's...Wood Poles, and Metal Poles.....some Very Old Fixed Mast Setups are mounted on wooden Utility Poles...but not by themselves...the poles are shared by Communication Lines,Transformers and High and Low Voltage Wires.
