It looks so small...
tpirman1982   [Jan 15, 2012 at 01:19 AM]
And probably not as heavy since there doesn't seem to be any ballast for it.
GullWhiz   [Jan 15, 2012 at 01:24 AM]
they all have drivers inside
streetlight98   [Jan 15, 2012 at 01:27 AM]
Those drivers probably weigh about the same as a fluorescent ballast right?
Antstar85   [Jan 15, 2012 at 01:37 AM]
Depend on how many watts you want to drive. My LEOTEK led fixtures ballast is about the size of a HO ballast.

I've seen these fixtures the last time I visited Boston. They are small and I wasn't impressed with the light output of these.

The HID F-can ballasts are exactly same size and style as the H.O. ballasts....they also looked same design (the LED drivers I've seen that is....)

An LED streetlight already dayburning? They could have the wrong photocontrol installed on it. I know Sun-Tech, DTL, and Ripley make special photocontrols for LED streetlights.

I kinda know if you use a photocell that sense a cycling HPS can malfuction in certain LED fixtures for some reason
HPSM250R2   [Jan 15, 2012 at 04:03 AM]
Are you talking about those DTL DD series diagnostic photocontrols that sense a cycling HPS lamp and shut the fixture off to prevent damage to the starter?
GullWhiz   [Jan 15, 2012 at 04:06 AM]
Yes with red LED inside....I have 2 of those myself.....You sure know a lot about photocells!!!
HPSM250R2   [Jan 15, 2012 at 04:14 AM]
Yes I do. Very Happy And those DD series controls are only to be used on HPS fixtures. I believe it says that on DTL's website. The photocontrol they make for LED fixtures is the DSS series.
