Oh of course, really though motion detectors drive me crazy. This was actually made by me from the "mix and match" bins where they have a bunch of different par flood components to make whatever type you want.
I hate those motion detector lights. When you don't want light, shut the dumb thing off. Fact: light doesn't scare criminals away, they just hide. I've been asking my dad to get rid of the motion dector PARs for a while but he says "if it ain't broke, I ain't gonna fix it"
That's what I was going to say One of my neighbours down the street installed a motion detector light a few months ago, it flashes on and off all day - even when a car drives by on the road
I have a couple of old ones lying around somewhere, and plus they don't really work that well the sensors tend to malfunction and either flash on and off or never come on for some reason.
Don't just love it when you see then turn on when you walk across the sidewalk or drive down the road?
It's like 20 feet off the ground and besides, I'm not going to vanalize my own property. My dad has two 40w PARs in the light and the light stays on for 10 seconds after the motion stops. The 70w PMH on the deck outshines the PARS so it's useless to even turn it on. I want to put up a 100 or 70w PMH floodlight up, but I need to acquire one first. I'll probably use some Christmas money to buy one. Only 4 months 'til December.
We don't have lights on the sides of the house nor do we have windows on the sides of my house. The city requires an extra permit to have windows on the sides of the house do to privacy. The houses in my neighboorhood aren't even that close. Maybe I will get a few rocks. Joe, see if you can mount your B2255 in your yard. I've been asking to mount a light in yard for awhile. My deck is being expanded soon, so my parents said maybe after the deck is done, I can mount a light off the deck to light the yard.
see if a hardware store has any tall fence posts (like 10-12 ft). Then buy a top for it and drill holes for something like a yardblaster arm. A real arm would be better, but I'm just talking about things that are cheaper and can be easilly purchased
@ Joe; sorry. And BTW, I am coming up to Ontario for vacation.
@ Niall; I probably would too exept for the fact that it doesn't look as good and when ice sticks to the wire, it could snap. Or worse yet, the pole could snap or fall if it's too cheasy or not put in right.
I have those inground sprinklers for the yard (irigation system) for the yard, so it would be a pain in the butt diggin' a trench. and my dad will just have a heart attack if I dig up the grass. Anyways, like I had said, I'll probably mount my light off the deck so i don't have to dig at all.
