I think they're not currently banned since I still see MV yardlights at some box stores here but they've proposed banning less efficient MV ballasts last year.
Mercury streetlights are pretty rare in Ontario though, a lot of places switched to sodium, even most rural areas too.
I think MV ballast production stopped, but remember, probe MH ballasts can still be ordered in Canada, so MV lamps can still be used. This light looks very gross.
Nice! I know of some MV too, @ Michael aren't probe start MH ballasts still available in the US? I though they where only banned from being installed at the factory in new fixtures but replacements could still be bought. And I'm pretty sure they don't make any MV ballasts any more, when I went to get one for my lifeguard back in December I couldn't get one, only a MH ballast that was rated for 175 watt MH and MV.
NU is still relamping existing MV fixtures around the area but as the fixtures fail, there being replaced with HPS fixtures. My M-250 R1 has a 175 watt MH ballast in it but I'm using a MV lamp in it so it still looks original.
