You sure are really lucky to get one of those! This is hard to come by! Where did you get it by the way? I have always loved those fixtures and seen them in a few places. There are 4 of those on a supermarket in New York City in Flushing,....but they are all now HPS, but all still has the covers!

Man I would love to get one, any suggestions on how to acquire one of those?! Also you are one of the lucky ones to have the Holophane post tops. I have 2 myself...I could have gotten 5...but 3 of them didn't make it, they got demolished before I could SAVE them! But the other 2 stood there during the WHOLE construction until just when they were done with the construction and was working on the entrance (which was open the whole time for the pharmacy trailer) and I overcame my shyness, fears and went to them, talked to them....15 min later, they are in my hands! Very Happy

Five STARS pal!

This was a random BIN find on eBay, the Halophane post top was an uncontested bid on eBay. I was quite nervous about this one, as I had to wait for payday to get it. I think I've seen one of these around here, but it was missing its lens, and might not even work. I just got a glance at it as I drove by a place, so it could have even been something else.

Well this is a VERY LUCKY FIND!!! I am very happy that you got something really COOL! I kinda think this design kinda is connected with the OV-20s and this Westinghouse Floodlight See the similarities of shape and design?

Yes it does look similar. Does this mount to a juction box or does it need to be mounted to a wall and have conduit running along the outside of the wall?
GullWhiz   [Dec 20, 2011 at 09:59 PM]
I have seen ones mounted directly to the junction box on a wall in Illinois, but those that were just added long after the building was built usually have conduct.....

This can be mounted to an in-wall junction box or connected with surface conduit.

I just drove by the place mentioned above today at dusk. Their wallgard was lit up and was HPS.
