Nice. I like diffused HPS lamps in clear glass globes (looks very decorative!) but I'd rather choose a clear tubular lamp to a floodlight for efficiency reasons.
@Mike:
Yep it is indeed a diffused lamp
I used to hate HPS...came from the time when I was a kid, the neighborhood was originally all MV, but then they went through and converted everything to HPS. I much preferred the old blue-ish streetlights over the orange ones LOL
@merc:
In this case I don't need anything real bright, the diffused lamp is actually perfect! But yeah if you needed stronger light a clear one would be the way to go. This is my only HPS at this point in time...
I was born after the big HPS changeout so I really know no different from HPS and actually find it comforting since I've always had a 100W HPS M-250R2 in front of my house. I know HPS is kinda yucky to see with but I'm really going to miss HPS when it disappears of the maps (or at least becomes uncommon or even rare in some places like MV).
Yeah I like the coated lamps since there's less glare but clear lamps are brighter. I think in a case with a direct-view lamp I'd want the diffused lamp though.
