I got this sports lighter today from this field when the final half of the lights came down, it is in very good shape but I can't get the stub of the mounting tenon that was cut off out of the light. I am thinking of restoring it and changing the ballast (it has a 600 volt ballast).
Nice score. you can light up you back yard and you neighboors' yards really good with this. I don't want any lights that use more than 400 watts. Too bright and expensive for my taste. If I get an M-1000 or OVL or 327, unless it's NOS, i'd most likely gut it and sell the ballast.
Thanks guys, I'd say it's about 30 inches long and the reflector is about 16 inches across although it does weight a lot (not as much as I though it would though) I'll post a comparison picture soon. @ Joseph thanks, I hadn't heard about that PB blaster before but I will give that a try, I obviously tried WD-40 but that didn't free it, I even put the correct sized hex bit in my drill to try to free it, but that ended in a bent bit and the light moving (I practically broke my wrist too)
Anyways the PB blaster and heat should work but you might have to repeat for a few time on some more stubborn screws, if it still doesn't work you'll have to drill out the screw and retap the hole.
Well I was exaggerating about almost breaking my wrists, anyway I'll try that PB blaster, but I guess if that doesn't work I'll have to drill them out.
Not yet, it's still sitting in the basement. I've been very busy with school for the past few months and have found myself too tired to do anything lately, hopefully this summer I can do something.

What are the measurements of this thing? I'm sure it's much larger than it looks in the pic.
