Ignitor from my OV-15 Tudor
At Jace the gull's request, here is the pic of the WESTINGHOUSE ignitor from my '81 vintage OV-15 Tudor. It is connected with a 50w HPS choke and capacitor(but disconnected for the pic). Here's the pic of Jace's Crouse-Hinds and Cooper ignitors, they are the same basic design.

I see the numbering on it.....any Westy logo on it?? I see the top is red on this one....I saw some current ones (brand new ones waiting to be used) that has green top, dark rich green!

Does it say where it's made in?

Nope no logo and no indication in where it was made.

I have three of these, two are grey on top (the older ones) and the one from my five year old OVX is green like Jace described.

Igniters are considered the Gear Category...

The igniter in my 1990 50W HPS OVC is black with a red cardboard top just like this one. I don't know if it has a logo or anything on it. I think it has the old style unfolded paperclip Cooper logo.

Cooper used this style a long time. Some wallpacks as new as 2000s have them
streetlight98   [Jan 16, 2014 at 10:43 PM]
they still use this style igniter today but the colors are different. I think the new ones are whitish green.

Yeah, my Cooper UCD uses these too. It looks exactly like the ones in Jace's pic linked above.
streetlight98   [Jan 17, 2014 at 12:05 PM]
all the cooper fixtures use the cooper igniter. the one above is the original westinghouse cube igniter (my OVC has this style original one). My 1980s westinghouse ballast has this style igniter too. I think before this style Westie used a paper lined can-shaped igniter.

the flaw i find with the cooper/westie cube igniters is that the 55V and 100V igntiers can be interchanged (they're not supposed to be but it can be done). I'm pretty sure with GE igniters you can't do that, but I've never seen one of the modern plug-in GE igniters in person to know.
