GE Multi-Vapor R175 MVR

Hello group, I picked up a GE Multi-vapor R175 bulb at a thrift store the other day, will it work in my GE Luminaire 100 or 150 HPS fixtures? Thanks!

Unfortunately in most cases HID bulbs are ballast specific so you won't be able to operate a that Multi-Vapor bulb with a 100w or 150w HPS ballast.

The electrical characteristics are different enough. What you need to operate it is a M57 175w metal halide ballast. You can get them from lighting suppliers or for around $30 on eBay. The same ballast will also operate 175w mercury vapor bulbs too.
