Permalinking Gallery Pics

Is there any way to reconfigure or install a patch to coppermine so that it will permalink the address in the url bar so that you won't accidentally open/link to a different pic when someone comments or uploads another pic?

Yeah but you'll use up extra bandwidth if you constantly refresh, and it's a bit of a pain to do on something like a phone or iPod.
