Just an idea...but I worry about would it cause slow downs or something


But I did find something that could make a live chat in this page...

Of course it would be a MEMBER ONLY feature....

We could try it on....test it...see if we like it or not....

Of course we can't be nasty, and need to behave and stuff LOL!!!

I see no reason why not. Its worth a try, and it sounds like an awesome idea. If it gets out of hand, we can always ban people off the chatroom. But.....that won't have to happen, because we have great, well behaved members. Right everyone?

Yeah this will happen to the first 46 members...because....when I try to send.....but it fails to get 100 percent....so I click send again...it will repeat....sorry...there's no way for me to know which been sent to and who haven't gotten the email....

It uses a lot of processing to send to a lot of emails to members......

I will see if I can fix this by lowering the number of emals sent per address.....

A shoutbox could be a good idea too! It doesn't take up a lot of ressources, and can be used to discuss. I don't know if SMF has that upgrade available, but I know MyBB has it.

Great idea! Maybe you can have the chatbox in a separate window to prevent it from slowing down the page.

I'm looking forward to see it up and running.

Just installed the shoutbox!

The shoutbox I installed also has a feature where you can pop it out in another window so you can still chat and browse the gallery at the same time!

I only use the form when I can submit an articles and reply some message.  My idea of using chatroom may be wasting my time since I am currently attending school with full time work  Of course anybody do have their lives on their own besides visiting the chatroom and site alone

Well you can always leave a line...if you need everyone to know what you need to say....and if you leave the room it still is on the shout box.....it's not exactly a chatroom, but sorta is in the same time!
