Norelco Duo
|
Date? If it helps I have an individual pic of each tube pictured. Top tube has modern Philips/Sylvania endcaps and the bottom one has early-80s Norelco endcaps. The bottom Norelco seems more italicized as well. I always thought the Norelco etches looked goofy LOL...

Yep, these are probably the two best 4' lamps in my collection besides that cool white GE Mainlighter.
I mentioned this before to you but you never read my comments properly.
It seems GE street ligths are the only ones to remain under the same company the whole time. AE went to ITT, which went to Thomas & Betts which went to Acuity brands. Westinghouse went to cooper crouse hinds. Line Material went to McGraw Edison which went to Cooper industries as well. oh yeah and Hubbell stayed the same too...
2. Consumers will tend to buy a familiar brand name and at that time Philips was unknown in the US.
3. Because of 2, companies will choose to keep their old and familiar brand names even years after a buyout or slowly transition over to a new name.
Case in point the Philips shaver page still has the Norelco name on it.
