How about 8 CFLs for a buck? Or 4 for 50 cents?
Found at a Food 4 Less supermarket in San Bernardino, KA. Man they are really trying to move these CFLs so they are priced for next to nothing. They are Greenlite 18w 1100 lumen 75w equivalent CFLs in an A shape, the glass is inside frost. I got a pack, rlshieldjr got two packs. In my tests on the Kill-a-watt, they achieve a Pf of 59%, going up to 60% upon reaching full brightness. Wattage seems to vary continuously from around 17.7w to 18.3w. The odd thing, these lamps do not have any labels that indicates they were subsidized by the electric utility, but I find no reason to doubt they were subsidized. However it would make them legal to be sold in Arizona and other states.

Wow a great deal! I still wouldn't get them (well, I may, but I wouldn't use them for myself. I'd either resell them or let other family members use them).

I would buy a bunch of these personally...even thought they're cheap and junky if they die fast you have lots of replacement ones on hands...
Is it illegal to sell them this cheaply in other states or something?

They had some at the Redlands Food-4-Less, got a couple packs. @GE SW, here in the Peoples Republic of Kalifornia, the PUC mandated electric utilities to use rate payers money to subsidize CFLs. Often label indicate that the CFL is not for sale or use out side of KA.

Oh, interesting...I've bought PG&E subsidized CFLs in CA before and never seen that...
