Really?
I normally don't take photos of lights in public places (Although I sure think about it!) This one tops the chart hands-down though as far as tacky "energy saving" retrofits are concerned. It's an Appleton 1000w mercury flood retrofitted with a couple 45w spiral compact fluorescents. I've seen this sucker lit at night and it's impressively bright in the wrong direction on the brightness scale LOL.
I remember when this had a nice Sylvania clearbander lamp too LOL.

I do that all the time Razz . Of course it does help if you have a camera phone so you can discretely take pics.

That flood just looks weird with those CFLs in Laughing , personally I would retrofit to CMH if energy savings were needed.

LPS would work better for that light, could 2 35w LPS lamps run horizontal? it looks it. or some 18w ones could sit vertical 3 of them would give about 10,000lm and for only 54w

Well at least they took the time to add a socket rather than just stick one spiral CFL in. Razz Laughing

The other one like this had one spiral CFL but installed diagonally!
LPS wouldn't look very good here at all though.

I wouldn't use LPS since the quality of the light is nasty. I wouldn't want to be in an area lit by monochromatic yellow light lol. They should have converted it to 400W PSMH or better yet kept it MV!

That's what I thought! They're also slowly retrofitting all their magnetic T12 lights to electronic T8...

I am a green, it shows I want less people and more LPS. The first thing I ask myself is what will save the most energy, not what light is best for me but what is best to save energy. and I don't want the government to force lamps on me........ LED, The government has no right to band lamps in the USA If you want MV you have the right to get it I just think LPS is the best but us right wing greens don't force are thinking on you we just inform you . Restoration 2016 Razz
