the city decided to go the led way and got rid of its hps and lps lights. this one will go soon, theres a road project going on here. solana beach is a nice town just north of san diego.
sad to see that it's going away. It's drooping its head because it knows the bad news. does it still work?
they should put some base covers on those brand new poles. they'll look much nicer and the bolts won't rust out. I guess they could be waiting until they're done construction though... BTW, RIDOT uses those little yellow rubber mats at the crosswalks here too lol
Too bad it's going away. Over here the last LPS fixtures were removed in 2006.
I wonder if this is similar the yellow mats you're talking about Mike, they line the edges on the subway platforms here. Crosswalks here are just plain concrete.
this lps by the way is a spaulding palomar, 180w. the new decorative lights in the back are led. btw the yellow crosswalk mats are somewhat rare in california. its up to the city to decide on the design of its own streets as far as local streets are concerned.
