BRAND NEW M-400 R2's!
Installed by CDOT or were they Xcel.. Not sure. But these two replaced former M-400 R3's. What a good choice of replacement! There were lots of them at this area, most are still M-400 R3's but I think 4 or 5 were changed out to these, and not a bad choice of a replacement either!

I told you they were using M-400 R2's still. These are brand new as you already know. I wonder when these were made..

Nice to see some installed!

Those may be as new as 2012!

I like them too, although I always preferred the M400A2.

I wish they'd install these here, looks good!

We still have some....from the 90s. Razz

Back to the M-400 R2's...

There are lots of old ones here, in fact more old ones then new ones, But I am glad they are using these as a choice of replacement now, because the M-400 R2's are better designed then the M-400 R3's.

I wish these were used more often then the M-250 R2's.

I see the NEMA tags have a different placement than the earlier models.
TiCoune66   [Mar 26, 2012 at 04:25 PM]
The only place I've seen M400R2s is in a parking lot at the local hospital, they're 250W HPS if I remember. One part of that parking lot is actually lit by Westinghouse flatbottom OV-25s! A few have recently been relamped with brand new /DXs. Curiously there's one of them that's been relamped with a MH a while ago LOL.

The M400R2s have the old style NEMA tags with thinner numbers.

Vince I keep thinking you are Ian with the picture. Laughing Here I have seen only two M400R2s in all of Brampton, both are in a parkinglot. Oddly even though they are on the same pole, one is 250 watts and the other is 400.
TiCoune66   [Mar 26, 2012 at 04:42 PM]
You'll get used to it Laughing
streetlight98   [Mar 26, 2012 at 08:34 PM]
Yeah, Dave's right, GE usually puts the NEMA tags right near the hinges versus in the middle like Cooper does.
Coolcat97   [Jul 23, 2015 at 07:29 AM]
They still make these........
streetlight98   [Jul 23, 2015 at 08:55 AM]
Yep, for now.
